Portwood & Co Ltd have been in business for more than 50 years and pride ourselves on not only offering a good service to all our customers but in dealing with any complaints very seriously. If the complaint is about an insurance product, then the first call will be to make a complaint using the complaints procedure in the policy booklet. Insurance companies who sell products via insurance intermediaries are consious of the need to treat customers fairly otherwise brokers will not offer their products. One broker could be selling tens of thousands of policies a year! If you do need to make a complaint then please let us know what has happened as we might be able to help you obtain a swift an amicable result - and of course we can keep track of complaint history with the insurer, which may affect our willingness to offer their products in the future. If the complaint is against us, or our staff then please call our Consett office on 01388 607140. In most cases the matter can be resolved quickly and easily. If your complaint is more serious then please write to our Consett office or e-mail us with full details. We will endeavour to sort out the problem and contact you with our results. Only if you are not happy with our final decision may you contact the Financial Ombudsman Service (full details will be provided with our final letter) and we will implement any decision made by them.
