Over 70 Travel InsuranceOverview on travel insurance for the over 70Our rates for over 70 travel insurance depend on the exact ages of the travellers. For people aged 70 to 74 annual travel insurance is available. For those aged 70 to 75 the rates are exactly the same as the over 65 (66 - 69). This means that the premiums quoted are extremely cheap for those in the low seventies requiring travel insurance. Specific rates are shown on the following pages to provide an indication on typical insurance premiums.
One feature about this comprehensive scheme is that any person who qualifies (85 and under) can purchase single trip cover for trips up to 365 days. Furthermore the policy cover for this long stay travel insurance over 70 option, unlike some long-stay travel insurance policies, remains equivalent to the single trip policy. Thus baggage cover can be covered up to £2,500 with a £750 limit, compared with alternative offerings with overall limits in the low hundreds. Medical ConditionsWhilst a page is devoted to medical conditions, it should be noted that a medical screening facility is available once the quotation has been obtained. A wide range of medical conditions of varying complexity and seriousness can be covered, at exceedingly reasonable terms. Policy optional BenefitsThe insurance policy can be extended to include cover for golf equipment, travel dispute (an extension to legal expenses insurance that covers costs in pursuing claims against the providers of the transportation and accommodation during the trip). There is also the facility to cover business equipment although it is admitted that at the age of 70+ the number of travelling businessmen will be limited. Benefit LevelsThere are three main levels of cover: Bronze, Silver and Gold. Also quoted is an economy policy, which is basically Bronze cover excluding baggage and cancellation. (These sections may be removed if desired from the Silver and Gold Policy). The most important differences are in the level of cancellation (£1,000 per person on Bronze should suffice for most European holidays, £3,000 per person on Silver is probably adequate to include long-haul holidays e.g. America or Australia, whilst the £10,000 limit on the Gold contract is very generous and should cover extended cruises and bespoke 'holiday's of a lifetime') The medical expenses limit is £2,000,000 on Bronze, £5,00,00 on Silver and unlimited on Gold. It should be noted that there hasn't been a medical expenses claim at the time of writing that has exceeded £1,000,000. Complete details of cover limits for all policies are shown on the quotation results page.
