What is a subsidised let?

For landlords insurance, we define a subsidised let as property let to an individual or family where the rental agreement is for a period of at least 6 months, the agreement is directly with the tenant but part of the rent is paid by the DSS due to low income or unemployment. This could be through the Universal Credit system.

Proposed changes in legislation

The 2022 white paper will result in landlords being unable to make a blanket ban on tenants on benefits or with pets. This will have an effect on some insurance policies.

Request a call back for a free quotation for your subsidised let landlord insurance.

We have available several schemes to cover subsidised lets. To offer the best advice and most suitable option we suggest that you request a call-back so we can discuss your needs. Our policies are not available to purchase online. To request a call-back select one of the options from the 'House' drop down menu above.

Policies normally offer the options of covering:-

  • The buildings

  • Landlords contents (NOT those of tenants!)

  • Property owners liability

and some contracts may be extended to include accidental damage to the buildings and employers liability. We offer quotes for landlords of subsidised lets and online quotes for all types of let/ unoccupied property.
