We are authorised and regulated by the
Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) for the arrangement and administration of
non-investment insurance contracts -
such as landlords insurance.Our

We are insurance brokers in North East England but offer policies for customers throughout the UK and some abroad e.g. holiday homes and
caravans in Europe, Liability insurance and Commercial in Northern Ireland

HISTORY
- Established : 1963 - over 55 years ago.
- Business : Insurance Broker - an independent insurance
intermediary, able to advise and compare products from a range of insurance
providers - depending on the product see our

- Whilst the Insurance Brokers Registration Act (IBRA)
was in
force, we were duly registered as an Broker and regulated by the
Insurance Brokers Registration Council. Amongst other rules and
regulations this meant:-
- We always had to act in the interests of our
customers.
- We were at all times subject to scrutiny
- All client funds were held in a separate account
from which only our commission and money due to insurance companies
can be taken.
- We had to ensure that a sufficient number of
agencies (over 50) are held so we can offer a wide range of policies for our
client's needs.
- ince the IBRA was repealed we had been regulated
by the General Insurance Standards Council (GISC) until 14th January
2005 then authorised and regulated by the Financial Services
Authority until 1st April 2013. We are currently authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority
- Client money is held in a non-statutory client
trust account (NSCTA) at Lloyds-TSB - this account allows us to fund
insurance premiums (but not take commission) in cases where clients
have not paid us the full premium and you accept we can do this.
- We keep all interest earned in the NSCTA
- All staff members must undergo continuing
professional development/ training.
- Before you take out an insurance policy we will
send you:-
- A status disclosure document - telling you
about us - normally sent by e-mail on submission of a request
form.
- A policy summary or Key Facts document
- A statement of demands and needs
- A statement of price.
- We must disclose any charges we make for our
services. Currently they are as follows:-
- Adjustments to a policy resulting in an
additional premium : £20.00
- Adjustments to a policy resulting in a
return premium not exceeding £100: £20.00
- Adjustments to a policy resulting in a
return premium not exceeding £200: £20.00
- Adjustments to a policy resulting in a
return premium exceeding £200: £20.00
- Reviewing your policy each renewal at making
our recommendations: £20.00 - only payable if you renew or take
our proffered advice
- If you cancel your policy during the first
14 days: £20.00
- If WE cancel the policy due to your
non-cooperation in any form : NIL refund
- Provision of duplicate certificates of
insurance/ policies: £10.00
- Processing a credit card payment (no cost online): £3.00
- Processing a debit card - NIL
- These charges are in addition to any charges an
insurance company makes and cover our expenses and any refund of
commission we have to make to an insurance company.
- Over a period of time these have to increase.
